PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

Microneedling is one of our most popular non-surgical treatments offered at our Ann Arbor, MI, and Wyandotte, MI med spa locations. Made popular by celebrities like Kim Kardashian and often referred to as a “vampire facial”, PRP harnesses your body’s own plasma. This minimally invasive facial rejuvenation treatment helps refresh your appearance, without downtime.

Growth factors from PRP, (Platelet-Rich Plasma), provide many aesthetic benefits from hair restoration to anti-aging. During your session, skin is fused with PRP growth factors by microneedling or direct injection, leaving you with amazing results.

WHAT IS PLATELET-RICH PLASMA?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is an autologous concentrated preparation of platelets and the associated growth factors in a small volume of plasma. Platelets are a natural source of a number of growth factors in their natural and biologically-determined ratios. Common treatment areas include microneedling with PRP, hair loss, torn tendons, tendinitis, muscle injuries, arthritis-related pain, joint injuries.

WHAT DO PLATELETS DO?

Platelets release growth factors that regulate the healing process by signaling the surrounding cells to repair damaged tissue and regenerate new tissue. Key growth factors involved in this process include but are not limited to:

  • Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF)

  • Transforming Growth Factor group (TGF)

  • Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)

  • Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF)

  • Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF)

  • Keratinocyte Growth Factor (KGF)
